Mikey's footprint in the sand....
Wow, it's the end of September! Can't believe I only wrote in my journal once this month.... life just gets so crazy.
My Dad had his 69th birthday on the 10th, all my siblings (but Danny in FL) and I descended upon him with BBQ fixing's & cake in hand. I think Dad had a great day. Good food, laughs, lots of family and bocce ball.
Sammi is really loving preschool and Mikey is beginning to adjust. Last Tuesday when it was time to pick her up, Mikey said, "Can we leave her there a little longer?" Today I enrolled Sammi for pre-ballet (her first class is Wednesday morning) and I signed Mikey up for Tuesday morning story time/puppet shows at the library. And so it begins.... I'm sure music lessons and baseball practices are just around the corner.
Spencer is looking at a few different colleges and preparing for his SATS. October 29th we are going to tour Salem State. Spencer wants to go for his Criminal Justice degree. After that he is hoping to be accepted into a police academy. I'm nervous because his father and step mother will be there too. We haven't spoken of college costs yet, so I'm hoping we can come to terms without having to go to court. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly....
This weekend Spencer and I are going white water rafting in Kennebec Maine. We are going with a group of my co-workers. All, but one, are bringing their sons too. I'm looking forward to spending some quality Mom-Son time. At almost 18 years old, his life is so busy now and it often doesn't include me.... Mike will be staying home and taking care of the little ones.
Poor Mike. Nahhhhhh, don't feel sorry for him. He leaves the following weekend for New York. There is a wood working symposium he is attending with other woodturner's from his club. He's looking forward to that time alone, I think. : )
Still spending lots of time at the beach, but this past week it feels as if autumn has finally descended upon us. Ah well, no frost on the pumpkins yet.
So I can live in denial until then....
